The vision of the Young Dentist Foundation is to provide support and guidance to dentists who are in the early stages of their careers. Whether you feel confused, disillusioned, or simply want to ensure you're one step ahead, we're here to alleviate your stress, provide ways for you to increase your knowledge and skills and guide you in your journey through dentistry.
This is a brand new community in which younger dentists can stay in touch and share their experiences and concerns with one another. One tangible facet of this new group will be access to a brand new title, Progressive Dentistry, which will focus in on all the issues pertinent to the next wave of UK dentistry.

Arjun Kachhala is Chairman of the Young Dentist Foundation. He was born and brought up in Coventry and then graduated from the University of Manchester in 2002. He began as an associate dentist at a mixed practice in Coventry, before moving onto a private practice in 2006 in Leicester. In 2008, he bought Kenilworth Dental Practice, a mixed practice in leafy suburban Warwickshire. Since then, the pursuit of excellence in all areas of dentistry has been his passion. Arjun particularly enjoys guiding, mentoring motivating and teaching colleagues and friends within the industry and within business as a whole. Arjun believes that everybody has massive potential and 'unlocking this should be your only focus-be the best you can at whatever you do!'
Arjun is married, enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter aged 4 and apparently he is a keen amateur 'singer' too (but PLEASE don't ask him to sing).
Early in his career, Arjun developed an interest in restorative dentistry, particularly aesthetic, and became a full member of BACD in 2009. Arjun has also been featured many times in the national dental press. He is on the editorial board of 'Premium Practice Dentistry' magazine and was amongst the shortlist for Best Young Dentist 2011. 'I owe everything to the three people that have helped me the most in my life and career so far, 'says Arjun. 'Without the help of my personal mentors Drs. Rahul and Bhavna Doshi (dentist on Extreme Makeover UK,) I would be having a different career altogether, can't say enough about them.' Arjun also cites his father (an entreprenuer) as a massive inspiration.

Anoup Nandra
Anoup is joint principal at Edgbaston Dental Centre where he continues to drive the surgery forward with his unique vision. Deeply committed to continuing education, he constantly enhances his knowledge by participating in postgraduate courses and training all over the world.
Anoup has been a clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham and has had successful years as a vocational trainer. In 2008, Anoup was approved as a mentor for the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) allowing him to help and tutor dentists requesting advice and support in the field of implantology. He is also an approved mentor for SAAD in the field of sedation dentistry. Anoup now limits his dentistry to implant based treatment and restorative dentistry.
Arun Mehra
Arun is an expert in helping dentists building better businesses. Just seven years in the industry, he is the proud owner and Managing Director of Samera Ltd, the leading Dental Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisors which advises hundreds of dentists all across the UK, on a whole range of business issues.
In addition, as a co-owner of the private The Neem Tree Dental Group, which has 3 branches based in London and Surrey, he is an excellent position to advise and help dentists on all their business needs.
Adam Hampson
Adam runs Hampson & Partners, referred to as H&P - a multi-disciplinary creative design agency based in Nottingham which specialises in brand design, print design and websites. Informed by Adam’s rich and varied career in commercial design, H&P Design is fast becoming the agency of choice for medical and healthcare professionals, as well as dental, facial aesthetic and skin clinics seeking the design, branding and marketing expertise necessary to excel in a crowded marketplace.
Matt Perkins
Matthew qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental Institute in 2002 with prizes in periodontology and preventive dentistry. After VT and an SHO post in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he worked for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. After his return, he completed his membership of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
He then undertook and completed specialist training in periodontology at King’s College, London. He completed his MSc and MClinDent at the University of London, and his Membership in Restorative Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was entered on to the specialist list in periodontics in 2010.
Mark Oborn
Mark spent over 20 years as a dental technician working exculsively within the high quality sector of the private market, after 7 years of running his own laboratory he undertook a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) majoring in marketing, innovation and creativity. He now works with a select handful of UK dental practices attracting new patients via online marketing, website conversions and social media marketing.
Mark uniquely blends his indepth knowledge of dentistry, practical business skills and formal business background in to a fun, yet empirically grounded blend of dentistry and business.
James Pritchard
James is a nationally renowned teacher in both Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry, delivering hands on courses and lectures throughout the UK. His most recent appointments are as Associate Clinical Teacher and Clinical Supervisor in Endodontics on the Masters Programme at Warwick University. James has also demonstrated the latest advances in dental technology for Schottlander at the Dental Showcases since 2004.
James gained his Masters Degree (MSc) in Restorative Dentistry with distinction from the Eastman Dental Hospital and also holds BDS; LDSRCS; MFGDP; DRDP qualifications, and in Nov 2011 was awarded his Fellowship from The International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics in New York
