Dundee university has come top of The Guardian‘s university league table for dentistry in 2019.

The league table ranks universities based on:

  • Student’s satisfaction with the course
  • Student’s satisfaction with the teaching
  • Student’s satisfaction with feedback
  • Value for money
  • Average entry tariff
  • Career after six months.

Dundee university was followed closely by Aberdeen university, with Plymouth making up the top three.

‘This is another excellent performance by the university,’ Professor Pete Downes, principal and vice-chancellor of the University of Dundee, said.

‘Both in the overall standings where we have had a real surge over the past two years and also across many of our subject areas.

The Guardian rankings strongly reflect levels of student satisfaction, which of course have been high at Dundee.

‘I am also particularly pleased to see the strength of our performance of Dundee in employability of our graduates.

‘We are committed to producing graduates who can make a real impact from the moment they leave the university.’

QS World University Rankings

These results differ to QS World University Rankings, which ranked King’s College as the top school for dentistry in Europe.

The QS World Rankings also listed King’s College as second in the world, behind The University of Hong Kong.

‘Maintaining our position as the top school in Europe, but also rising to second in the world in the global rankings, reaffirms our position as a world-class institution and reflects the dedication, commitment and innovation of our academic and professional staff, our students, and our alumni,’ executive dean, Professor Mike Curtis, said.
