Dental student could be finalist for Miss England 2019
Anika Walla, a dental student from Middlesex, is one of the finalists for 2019’s Miss England competition.
The winner of Miss England 2019 will go on to compete with women from other countries to win Miss World.
Contestants who reach the final are encouraged to:
- Raise funds and awareness for Beauty with a Purpose
- Arrange sponsored gifts to donate to charity
- Take part in a creative Eco fashion round
- Compete in a sports round
- Complete a general knowledge quiz
- Take part in a beach beauty shoot
- Submit a short video for the talent round.
‘The competition is much more than a physical beauty contest,’ Miss England national director, Angie Beasley, said.
‘The girls are encouraged to be charitable, sporty and an all round good role model.’
Anika Food Charity
As part of her entry, Anika Walla will be highlighting her charity, the Anika Food Charity (AFC).
The charity donates food to the homeless and can act as a food bank, also providing support and counselling.
‘We also provide classes to help people rehabilitate back into society such as CV writing classes and cooking classes,’ Ms Walla said.
‘We also distribute toiletries, sanitary kits and dental kits to those who need it.
‘At AFC, we strongly support women who have suffered from domestic violence, acid attacks, young people with learning disabilities and mental illness.’
